Helping People Grow

There are many analogies between the way in which plants and people grow come. We say that someone is ‘blossoming.’ A child may be described as ‘growing like a weed.’ Perhaps the analogies are more than just metaphoric. The skills and qualities needed for growing plants seem to transfer to growing people. Most central of all is the need for patience.

Your Self-Talk

Your Self-Talk

When you consider that you spend infinitely more time with your “self” — listening to your internal dialogue – than you do to any other person in your life, it pays to have it on a leash! What you say to yourself in your head goes on 24/7. When you think about it, this is tremendously more input into your life than any other person could possibly have.

Your Self-Introduction

Focus on the impact. Envision the impression on the snow of a high heel, and of a snowshoe. One has a focused impact, the other barely leaves an impression. To give your introduction true impact make it brief, focused, and hard-hitting. Keep it to sixty seconds maximum – preferably thirty.

When You’re Feeling Down

When You’re Feeling Down

Seems as though it’s easy to get down these days. While the reasons are legion, the story is pretty much the same: try as you may, being up, on top, all the time can be a chore. When that happens–and for most of us, it does–here are some things you may want to consider.

Living Your Dream

Living Your Dream

Unlimit yourself and dream as high as your heart can extend. When you hear yourself saying “No, that’s not right,” or “No, that is silly,” or “No, that can never happen,” then that is your clue that you have found what you are looking for. You have hit your dream on the nose. Tune inward and listen to your own heart. Listen to your own soul. Listen to what you believe in, not what society tells you or anyone else. Listening to your heart, your soul, and your *authentic* beliefs will lead you to your happiness.

Defining Your Personal Purpose

Defining Your Personal Purpose

The foundation for creating and living a purpose-centered life is based on key elements which, when present, support you to lead a meaningful life. The path to discovering personal purpose starts with identifying who you are, what you do, and what it is you contribute.
